I get so excited when I find handwritten notes, grocery lists, forgotten school papers, tickets, and other little treasures that once belonged to other people. Welcome to my new little side project! I've been finding many of these things on my walks and have begun gluing and stapling my findings into a simple journal handmade from a paper bag.
I love the effect. Here are some more peeks:

iHanna recently posted about a little journal centered entired on color (here). What else could you collect or explore in a journal?

I wish I found interesting things on my walks, but I suppose it's really a good thing my town is so tidy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm about to start a tea journal and write about new teas I've tried. I think it will be a fun project.
What a brilliant idea! I think I might start something like this. I pass a puzzle piece on the sidewalk where I run and I always thought it was cool but I never knew what to do with it, so I've just left it there.
ReplyDeleteYour found papers journal looks great, what a fun way to take walks, always on the lookout for other peoples lost ephemera...
ReplyDeleteOh. Thanks for the link love Ingrid!
What a brilliant idea! I love it! :D
ReplyDeletespooky, that sounds very cool! i'll bet when it's finished it will smell wonderful, too.
ReplyDeletebrandi, i think you should adopt the puzzle piece! though maybe you shouldn't take my advice - i'm a terrible pack rat and save all sorts of bits and pieces that i still haven't used... heh.
ihanna, thanks! i love the little peek into others' lives!
lianne, thank you, lovely!
it reminds me of Amelie's (in the movie la fabuleuse histoire d'Amelie Poulain) collection of lost photos...
ReplyDeletelovely idea!
Claire

ReplyDeletemy mom does the same thing, but has never put her findings in a collection. this is so cool.
